On the 5th of September 2011 the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) announced funding awards under Round 11 TV. Tile Films Ltd were granted funding, subject to contract for two projects.
Breith agus Bás a 52 minute documentary for TG4 which tells the story of the Cannon family who have run Lettermacaward Post Office in Donegal for 100 years. Set against a background of revolution and tragedy the Cannon family’s story mirrors the growth of the new nation in a very personal way.
The Graves of the Disappeared is a two part series for TV3 focusing on the period 1919-23 will reveal the true extent of the horror that took place during these years when hundreds of bodies were unceremoniously dumped in unmarked graves.
Both projects will go into pre production later in the year with shooting to start in spring of 2012.
