Keith Farrell

Keith has written and directed various projects for Tile Films since 2006 having previously worked with Granada Factual in Manchester.

In 2000 Keith  moved from Ireland to the UK to join Granada Factual, Manchester, where he held various positions and worked on a diverse range of programming spanning History, Technology, Sport and Science including Real Crime: Nailing the Nailbomber for ITV1 (Producer), Warplane for WNET13, I Survived for C5, Battlefield Detectives for History, Building the Ultimate for C5, Titanic - Birth of a Legend for ITV1.

His most recent works include the film  Saving the Titanic, the concept for which he developed and on which he was the creative producer. The production received four IFTA nominations. As Director and Writer he has just completed A Terrible Beauty.... a 90 minute feature docudrama  critically acclaimed at the 2013 Jameson International Film Festival and is putting the finishing touches to Death on the Railroad which he also directed and co-wrote. This is a 60 minute documentary for PBS in the US and RTE in Ireland.

In 2010 he wrote and directed the Irish-US co production, Fág An Bealach/The Fighting Irish of the Civil War a two part docu-drama series for TG4 (Ireland) and the Smithsonian Networks (USA). The series tells the story of the Irish Brigade in the American Civil War and their charismatic leader General Thomas Francis Meagher.

His first work for Tile in 2007 was Irelands Nazis which went out on RTE and The History Channel which was also nominated for an IFTA (Irish Film and Television Award) and won a gold award at the Hamburg Media Festival


Keith has also worked as a freelance journalist in the UK and Ireland.
